Germany’s crude steel production slides in Aug

According to statistics from the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl), Germany’s crude steel output amounted to around 2.9 million tons in August this year, decreasing by 2.3% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, Germany’s hot-rolled steel production was down by 4.3% year on year to approximately 2.4 million tons.

In the first eight months of this year, Germany’s crude steel output totaled around 25.4 million tons, down by 4.8% year on year; the hot-rolled steel output was roughly 22.4 million tons, sliding by 5.1% year on year.
