Hydro Energi AS and Hafslund Kraft AS have reached a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for 1.75 TWh of electricity. This contract ensures an annual delivery of 350 GWh between 2036 and 2040 in Norway’s electricity price area NO3.

This deal is the eighth partnership between the two companies since 2020, bringing their total contracted volume to 10 TWh.

By locking in renewable power, Hydro supports its aluminum plants’ transition toward zero emissions. Access to clean energy allows the company to maintain a carbon footprint around 75% lower than the global average.

Hydro continues to seek diverse sourcing options, including upgrading its own energy portfolio, to sustain its low-carbon production goals.
