Japan's Nippon Kinzoku Co., Ltd. has launched a new environmentally friendly stainless steel product, STA (Special Tension Annealing) finish, designed for microfabrication applications. The material is part of the company’s eco-product series, aiming to support advanced manufacturing while addressing sustainability concerns.

The STA finish builds upon Nippon Kinzoku’s existing TA (Tension Annealing) stainless steel, known for its flatness and dimensional stability. The upgraded version reduces warping during etching processes, improving precision for components in industries like 5G communications, semiconductors, and mobile devices. Its refined crystal grain size also ensures smoother etched surfaces, critical for high-accuracy applications.

Aligned with the company’s net-zero emissions goal by 2050, the STA finish enhances production efficiency by minimizing waste and energy use. It supports Nippon Kinzoku’s "Near Net Performance" strategy, which focuses on reducing processing steps and material waste.

The product is expected to meet growing demand in precision manufacturing, particularly for smartphone parts, metal masks, and semiconductor components.
