According to an announcement from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs on January 4, 2023, in order to prevent Taiwan from exporting high-tech goods to Russia and Belarus for the production of military weapons, the scope of restricted exports to the two countries was expanded, adding categories 0, 1, and 2 of the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) after the expansion of categories 3 to 9 in April and May 2022, consistent with the regulatory specifications of the EU, the US, and other alliances.

A total of 52 items were newly included in the export control, including nuclear substances and miscellaneous items, materials, chemicals, and machine tools. 304 and 316 stainless steel plates were also listed this time.

The amendment came into force from the date of the announcement.
