US’ crude steel output in week ending Jun 22 increases

According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on June 22, the US’ production of crude steel was around 1.71 million net tons, increasing by 0.4% week on week but dropping by 1.6% year on year. During the period, the capacity utilization rate was 77%, a week-on-week increase of 0.4% but declining by 0.3% year on year.

As of June 22, the adjusted year-to-date output of the US’ crude steel was around 42.2 million net tons, decreasing by 2.7% year on year. In terms of the capacity utilization rate, it was 76.4%, decreasing by 1.4% year on year.
