Rio Tinto projects 2025 alumina production at 7.4-7.8 million tons

Global mining company Rio Tinto’s fourth-quarter 2024 report showed steady production growth. During the period, bauxite output rose by 2% year on year to 15.4 million tons, and alumina production increased 3.8% year on year to 1.99 million tons. Aluminum production, however, slid by 1.1% year on year to 837,000 tons.

The company maintained its 2025 production guidance, of which bauxite was at 57-59 million tons, alumina was at 7.4-7.8 million tons, and aluminum was at 3.25-3.45 million tons.
